Course Overview
The Clinical Herbal Medicine Course combines traditional herbal wisdom with practical clinical application. The curriculum is divided into two complementary areas of study: Materia Medica and Therapeutics.
The first half of the program focuses on understanding the herbs themselves. Students learn how to identify herbal actions, energetics, indications, preparations, safety considerations, and traditional uses while building a comprehensive reference library that can continue growing throughout their careers.
The second half of the course focuses on clinical therapeutics. Students explore herbal approaches to common conditions affecting every major body system, learning how to think critically about patterns of imbalance and develop effective herbal strategies for supporting health and healing.
This course is designed for:
New Herbal Students
- Build a solid foundation in herbal medicine
- Learn how to safely and confidently use herbs
- Understand the principles behind herbal formulation
- Develop practical skills that can be applied immediately
Existing Practitioners
- Expand clinical knowledge and herbal confidence
- Deepen understanding of herbal therapeutics
- Add evidence-informed herbal strategies to existing practice
- Strengthen case assessment and protocol development skills
By the end of the program, students will understand not only what herbs do, but when to use them, why they work, and how to combine them effectively to support individual health goals.
preparations are the building blocks of herbal practice—and you’ll leave with the confidence to stock your own apothecary.
Materia Medica & Therapeutics
Materia Medica
The Materia Medica portion of the course consists of 12 dedicated classes focused on building an in-depth understanding of medicinal plants.
Students will study:
- Herbal actions and affinities
- Energetics and constitutional considerations
- Active constituents and phytochemistry
- Traditional and historical uses
- Indications and contraindications
- Preparation methods and dosing strategies
- Safety considerations and herb-drug interactions
Each herb is explored through a clinical lens, helping students move beyond memorization toward a practical understanding of how and when to use medicinal plants effectively.
Therapeutics
The Therapeutics portion of the course consists of 12 classes that examine herbal approaches to the most common conditions and imbalances encountered in clinical practice.
Topics include support for:
- Digestive health
- Nervous system function
- Stress and adrenal resilience
- Immune system health
- Cardiovascular wellness
- Respiratory conditions
- Endocrine and hormonal balance
- Liver and detoxification pathways
- Musculoskeletal concerns
- Skin health and inflammation
Students learn how to assess patterns, select appropriate herbs, create synergistic formulas, and develop practical protocols that address underlying causes rather than simply managing symptoms.
Together, the Materia Medica and Therapeutics components create a complete clinical framework that helps students develop confidence, competence, and a lifelong relationship with herbal medicine.
Why Learn Through Skool?
The online Clinical Herbal Medicine Course offers all of the core education and mentorship of the in-person program at a significantly reduced cost. By moving the course online, students can access the complete curriculum for $750, compared to $1,200 for the traditional classroom format.
Learning through Skool also provides greater flexibility, allowing you to study at your own pace while maintaining access to a supportive community of fellow students and practitioners.
Perhaps the greatest advantage is lifetime access to the live Clinical Herbal Medicine calls. As long as the program continues to be offered on Skool, you can join ongoing discussions, ask questions, participate in case reviews, and continue learning long after you complete the course. This creates an opportunity for continued mentorship, professional growth, and community connection that extends far beyond the initial training.
Whether you’re beginning your herbal journey or expanding an existing practice, the online format makes high-quality herbal education more accessible, affordable, and sustainable for long-term learning.
Optional 1:1 Mentorship
For students seeking deeper guidance, limited 1:1 mentorship is available online and, when scheduling allows, in person. These sessions can provide personalized support with clinical thinking, case discussions, herbal formulation, materia medica studies, dispensary development, and professional growth.
To ensure meaningful mentorship and individualized attention, only a limited number of mentorship spaces are available at any given time.
